Privacy policy

Your trust matters to us. This policy explains what information Yūgen & Co. collects through this website and how we handle it.

Last updated: 28 August 2026

1. Who we are

Yūgen & Co. creates experiences, workshops, conversations, and programmes for women. In this policy, “Yūgen & Co.”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Yūgen & Co. in Suriname.

If you have a question about this policy or the personal information we hold about you, contact us at discover@yugen.sr.

2. Information we collect

When you contact us

Our contact form asks for your name, email address, area of interest, and message. We use this information to receive, respond to, and follow up on your enquiry. The website sends the message to our email inbox and sends you an automatic confirmation.

When you join our announcement list

We collect your first name, last name, and email address so we can send you announcements about Yūgen & Co. experiences, workshops, programmes, and related news. We also record when you subscribed, the source of the signup, your subscription status, and a one-way security hash derived from your IP address. We do not store your raw IP address in the subscriber record.

Technical information

Our hosting infrastructure may automatically record limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type, requested pages, and the date and time of a request. We use this information to keep the website secure, diagnose technical problems, and maintain reliable service.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information only for relevant and clearly stated purposes, including to:

  • respond to questions and requests;
  • send confirmations and service-related messages;
  • manage the Yūgen announcement list and send updates you requested;
  • organize and communicate about experiences or programmes;
  • protect the website from spam, misuse, and security threats; and
  • meet legal, accounting, or regulatory obligations.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

4. Email and service providers

We use Postmark to deliver contact-form messages and automatic confirmations. This means your name, email address, message, and related email delivery information are processed by Postmark for that purpose.

Our website and database are managed through hosting and infrastructure providers that process data as needed to operate and secure the service. If we use a newsletter platform to send announcements, that provider may process subscriber information on our behalf. We require service providers to use information only for the services they provide to us.

Some providers may process information outside Suriname. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to select reputable providers and protect the information appropriately.

5. How long we keep information

We keep contact correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary to answer your enquiry, maintain appropriate business records, and meet legal obligations.

We keep announcement-list information while your subscription is active. If you unsubscribe, we may retain limited information needed to record and respect that choice. Technical and security records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for their purpose.

6. Cookies

The website may use an essential PHP session cookie for basic functionality and security. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, such as which pages are viewed and how visitors navigate between them. Google may process device, browser, approximate location, and usage information and may place analytics cookies for this purpose.

We use these insights to improve the website and our communications. We do not use Google Analytics to identify visitors by name, and we do not use advertising cookies on this website. You can restrict or delete cookies through your browser settings.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No website, email service, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information through the contact form.

8. Your choices and requests

You can ask us to provide access to, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. You can also withdraw your consent to announcements at any time by contacting discover@yugen.sr. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and some information may need to be retained where the law requires it.

9. External links and registration forms

Our website links to social media profiles and may link to external registration forms for experiences. When you follow an external link, that organization’s own privacy policy and terms apply. We encourage you to review them before providing personal information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, providers, or legal obligations change. The latest version will always appear on this page with its revision date.
